Background of the Study

Youth movements, particularly those advocating for greater political participation, have played a significant role in shaping political change globally. The "Not Too Young to Run" movement, which aims to reduce the age barrier for political officeholders, has had a notable impact on Nigeria's political landscape (Abdullahi & Muktar, 2023). In Dutse LGA, Jigawa State, this movement has sparked discussions around youth participation in politics, contributing to a wider push for political reforms that empower younger generations.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

While youth movements, such as the "Not Too Young to Run" movement, have garnered attention nationwide, their specific impact at the local government level, particularly in Dutse LGA, remains underexplored. This study seeks to assess the role of youth movements in driving political change within the region, focusing on their influence on governance, political participation, and political reforms.
